Cherrytree is a member of the Canine Hydrotherapy Association, which sets the high standards of training, hydrotherapy treatment and pool water quality. You can be assured that our facillities can be used in confidence. As a specialist centre our fully trained therapists work very closely with your vet. To maintain our high standards and to ensure the best treatment for your dog we insist on a veterinary referral. Your vet will give us your dogs medical history so that we can ensure we tailor your pets course of treatment specifically to their needs. With the pool, spa and aquatic treadmill to choose from we can put together a treatment programme that will achieve the best possible results. At Cherrytree nothing is rushed, we take as long as neccessary to make your dog feel comfortable.
On every visit your dog will be given a heath check to assess its suitabillity to swim on that day.

The indoor pool is 17 x 9 and is heated to between 28 - 30 degrees C. Swim jets can be used for the dog to swin against if needed for extra resistance. All dogs wear a buoyancy aid and a therapist will get in with the dog if neccessary.

The water is tested regularly throughout the day to ensure perfect water quality. A ramp is used for dogs to get and out of the pool and a hoist can be used for the less mobile dogs.
Owners are invited to stand poolside to give their dog plenty of encouragement.
Benefits of the pool include:
Pain Relief
Increased range of movement
Muscle strenghthening
Improved cirulation
Improved cardiovascular fitness
Most dogs love to swim. Your dog does not need to have a medical problem to benefit from hydrotherapy. Agility dogs, racing greyhounds, show dogs, working dogs and dogs who just love to have fun will all have a great time at Cherrytree and they'll be keeping fit too!

After their swim the dogs are rested, then a warm shower and a quick blow dry.

What is Hydrotherapy ?
The buoyancy of the water allows non weight bearing exercise to be carried out, reducing pressure on painful joints and muscles. The warm water improves blood circulation and relaxes muscles thus relieving stiffness. Results include improved range of movement, and increased muscle mass. Here are just some of the conditions that hydrotherapy can benefit.
